Contributing to Free Software Projects Made Easy

One of the primary reasons why Bazaar exists is that Canonical wants to make it as easy as possible for more people to contribute to FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) projects. After many years of development, the pieces of the puzzle are really falling into place nicely. See the tutorial I put together last week to see just how easy it can be.

  1. Vow, when you move, you move! How do you find the energy?

Basically, I switched to Bazaar for very simple reason – for my rather limited vcs use, I want the same client

    * locally. when all the files always remain on my hdd
    * externally, where the files are put time to time for safe keeping.

So my starting point was — good documentation. And is that not true of everybody, unless they are really, really versed in vcs.

Good luck to you all and to Canonical – I am watching with great interest this interaction of commercial enterprise and FOSS – that’s where the future lies IMHO.
